Stanley LandCare Group

What a wonderful summer for growing all we do and don’t want in Stanley, desirable plants and weeds!

  • NELandcare StanleyYour Landcare Group has been steadily chipping away at our projects, with the main push being weed control in our areas of responsibility. In the near future we will provide more picnic tables in Spring Ditch Park and at the Upper Spring Ditch Dam. Our thanks to Henry and Rita Hilton for their donation.
  • Working bees have been held in Blue Gum Gully and Long Dick’s Gully in recent times, tidying up. The most recent was held on the 26th February involved weeding of broom. More volunteers are required for this task.

Various members have hired the spray unit for gorse, blackberry, broom etc over the summer period. If interested you need to contact David McKay on 5728 6665, have a current membership which is $20, as well as $20 to hire the spray unit.

As mentioned, we are always looking for renewed memberships as well as new members and helpers in order to pursue our good works.

The Stanley Landcare Group is hosting a Community Walk and Information Evening, followed by a BBQ. The walk will commence on Sunday, 15th March at 5.00.
All interested parties are invited to meet outside the Soldiers Memorial Hall at 5.00. From there the walk will lead you to where the Ecoblade contractor was working, with outstanding results.

For catering purposes please contact Colette McNeill 0402 274 373

or David & Sally McKay 5728 6665

Look forward to seeing you on the 15th March.
