Exhibition at Stanley Athenaeum – Tutti Fruitti
‘Tutti Fruitti’ – The Apple Days of Stanley
The Friends of Stanley Athenaeum will be holding an exhibition which looks at the history of fruit growing around Stanley. The exhibition will open toward the end of this month on Saturday 24th of November, 2012. The title ‘The Apple Days of Stanley’ comes from an historical booklet held at the Athenaeum.
We are looking for apple and fruit related labels, photos, magazines, recipes, diaries and the like. We have recently been given the minutes of some years of the local fruit industry organisation.
Please contact any of the following if you have any of these items that you are willing to lend:
Chris Dormer 57286590
Janet Sutherland 57286720
Helen McIntyre 57286591 & Anne Visser
We also have a copy of The Elders film CD, by Steve Routledge and Bruce Forrest, which includes
interviews with Lex Sinclair and Gif Thomson, as well as historical horticultural books. Unfortunately we don’t have room for the display of large objects.
We also plan some surprise Tutti Fruitti Apple Days events around this exhibition so look out for further details on our poster.
