Well, Christmas is well and truly over and the New Year already appears to be running away as fast as last year!
The January services were duly held and were quite well attended on both Sundays – but we are always delighted to welcome newcomers and visitors to our village to join us in our informal and friendly morning or evening gatherings.
These are held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
In February the evening service will commence at 6.00pm on the 8th (followed by a ‘bring-a-plate’ shared supper) and the morning service at 9.30am on the 22nd with a cuppa afterwards.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up
We will meet at the church on Tuesday the 17th Feb for an afternoon of chat, to plan some activities and, of course, afternoon tea.
Any new comers to Stanley are warmly invited to come along and join us at this informal afternoon. It is a good way to “get to know” some of the Stanley folks.
After a well-earned break choir practice will resume on Wed 4th and 18th Feb at the church from 5.30pm-7pm.
We welcome any Stanley residents who have an interest in singing for pleasure. Please come along and join us. Knowledge of music is not essential.
Stanley Tennis Club
By the time you read this the Club’s AGM will have taken place (at Stanley Primary School on Saturday 31 January at 11.00am) and (hopefully) decisions made as to which day and time would be the most popular for playing during the rest of the summer.
Friday evenings have only seen a stalwart few, so that we are open to suggestion on the subject.
Please ring Helen McIntyre (5728-6591) or Mike Byrne (5728-6611) should you require further information.
