Stanley and The First World War
The Friends of the Stanley Athenaeum are currently researching an exhibition to be held at the Athenaeum in 2015.
It will commemorate Stanley and its contribution to, and the effects of, the First World War on the people who lived here.
We are looking for information and photographs about the community, and the men and women who were involved with the war effort between 1914 and 1918. The collection at the Athenaeum has some information and photographs, but we are hoping there are other stories and materials with people and families in the community.
Further details of the exhibition, and the 2nd Geoff Craig Memorial lecture that will be held in conjunction with the exhibition, will be posted at the Post Office notice board and in the March edition of the Nine Mile News.
If you are interested in assisting with the exhibition, or have materials that can be included, please contact Chris Dormer 03 5728 6594
